LDK MP Anton Kuni said in the Kosovo Assembly that Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Gervalla had violated the law by dismissing diplomat Viscont Jakupi and returning him from London within 24 hours. He had launched a legal battle against the MPJ.
Quinn explained in the country how Jakupi was deployed in London and how he was ordered to return to Kosovo, with a decision by Gervala.
According to Quinn, he first faced pressure to leave the hotel and find a residence for which embassy staff were engaged.
“At the end of August 2021, career diplomat Viskont Jakupi, with the first rank secretary, from the MPJ wheel commission, was recommended to serve at the Kosovo Embassy in Great Britain. On October 11, 2021, he and his family traveled to London, settling in a hotel reserved by the embassy, and immediately they had begun searching for residence with their embassy colleagues. But given the high rent prices in London, from the outset it was implied that the amount allowed by the Ministry was impossible to find an adequate residence. In this situation, diplomat Jakup also faced pressure to release the hotel where he was located. Meanwhile, during this period, the embassy through an agency had found an apartment in an area that is not preferred for diplomats for security causes”, he said.
