Just like Professor Skender Gashi left: All personal library donated to the National Library

The National Library of Kosovo, Peter Bogdani, has announced that he has been granted the entire personal library of Professor Skender Gashi.

As the Library reports, this was Professor Gashi's dying wish.

Profe library. Dr. Skender Gashi has been donated to the National Library of Kosovo by his family, according to the oath of the owner. Under the great devotion and will of Mrs. Habibe Gashi, of the widow of the prominent Albanologist Dr. Skender Gashi, it has been possible to hand over this library.

The National Library of Kosovo, through a joint commission with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, has accepted the personal library of prof. Dr. Skender H. Gashi. The material was brought to Pristina from Vienna, where it lived and acted prof. Gashi.

As one of the most diligent scholars of Albanology, prof. Dr. Skender Gashi was the activist of the Kosovo and Albanian issue, scientist and albanology researcher in Pristina, Zagreb and Salsburg, and had high culture for building a rich private and family library. Personal library prof. Skender Gashi numbers a number of titles, some of which are rare and valuable publications.

All works of this library will be stored in the Kosovo National Library in order to be guarded by library professionals, but also made available to the reader.

Personal library prof. Dr. Skender H. Gashi will be treated very carefully by the BKK professional staff. A working group has been created that will make the ID, sealing, recording and bibliographic processing of each title, then publish the data on the number of titles and specimens of this library.

This collection of books from the private library and prof. Gashi, of particular importance to the collections of the National Library, our reader will have the opportunity to look closely, touch his books, read them, talk about them, their author, and even their owner.

At the moment facing this library, the reader will come up with the idea of the professor's taste as a reader and scholar, his work studio, and, most important, his library.

This library offers a very welcome and much needed incentive for enriching the Kosovo National Library fund and at the same time a unique way to remember and honour the author.

The National Library of Kosovo expresses the deep gratitude for the care and will that the family offers. Dr. Gashi has indicated to enrich the National Library with this collection.
