The Kosovo Police Union has strongly condemned the attack on police officials, which occurred last night in the country's north.
The union's response reportedly that with the act under law by the prosecution and the court would influence the prevention of attacks on police officials and other criminal acts.
“The official police officers have suffered injuries during performing official tasks operating in the pursuit of organised crime and smuggling. By failing to comply with the orders of police officials to stop, a truck has hit the police vehicle, with the case that five police officials have suffered injuries as well as caused material damage”.
Police officers want rapid recovery, while law enforcement requires that they act according to the law against the perpetrators of these criminal acts. Act by law by the Prosecutor and Court would influence the prevention of attacks on police officials and other criminal acts”.
Kosovo's “Police are the pride of all of us, so we are grateful for the work, sacrifice, courage and professionalism that they are showing every day in fulfilling their” mission, it says in response.
