During a conversation with journalists, Peskov said residents of the Russian occupied areas in southern and eastern Ukraine now have the right to become Russian citizens.
He also said there has been no discussion of restarting peace talks with Kiev.
The comments came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing citizenship for all Ukrainians with accelerated procedure.
Until recently, only residents of Donnetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as residents of Zaporizhja and Kherson, were allowed for simplified procedure. /Periscopi/
