Mount Chica was on fire three days: Over 100 ground forces

The fire on the Chika Mountain, in the municipality of Himara, continues to remain active.

A massive ground operation was held this Thursday for its extinction, where about 100 troops of the Armed Forces were engaged and 20 forces from local firefighters, the Defence Zone Administration and municipal employees Himara.

Fire in this mountain fell days ago, writes Euronews.al.

Residents report that the flames are advancing toward the village of Shhermi. According to Prefect Flamur Mamaj, there is no danger for residents, since the firehouse is far away.

So far only reports are burning grass and bushes. Albanian President Ilir Meta called for the state to cut off extinguishing payments for intensaries and to increase the fire protection fund.
