Ahmetovic has specifically requested candidate country status for Bosnia, visas for Kosovo and the start of membership negotiations for Northern Macedonia and Albania, as well as speeding up the integration process for Montenegro.
When it comes to the condition that Serbia recognises Kosovo to become a full member of the EU, Ahmetovic's stance is also clear.
“Kancelari Solz said, and I will simply quote it: “if Serbia wants to enter the EU, it should work on meeting criteria from Copenhagen, it should join sanctions against Russia and, the third thing, should have normalisation. of the relationship between Kosovo and Serbia, so sooner or later it must recognise Kosovo”, Ahmetovic has said.
He has also said that you can not be an EU member until you have a clear stance on whether you are with democracy or with Russia.
You can't be an EU member right now if you don't know whether you're on the side of democracy, that's the EU, or you're on the side of autocratics, that's Russia. And if Serbia does not want to make a decision, it will be difficult to take the next steps. I candidly say that if Serbia says it will be on the EU side, that it will impose sanctions on Russia, then we are here and we can move forward”, Ahmetovic added.
