Marec miners don't work, sée want new director

They are holding a strike rejecting the manager's task leader, Basri Cocoli, appointed by the board of directors.

According to strikers Cocoli, he does not deserve this position since he has pointed to directors rather than employees in earlier leadership positions.

But Basri Cocoli denies criticism. Cocoli says that now 37 years from now he works in the mine, he's the master of xetetari, he's got a job experience, but the problem he's got with workers he doesn't fit in, since they're missing and they're not responsible for work, which he's already fined and he'll do.

Board of Directors Chairman Basri Hasani told Kosovo that workers can be suspended from Wednesday if they continue to boycott the job, since they do not elect the director, but that is what the board did, and the current task leader is meritive for the position.

The Artana Mine (former-Novoberda) is richer in gold. This mine is estimated to contain gold reserves of up to two thousand and 700 pounds.

“Ari, which is connected to mineralisations and lead-zink sites, is represented at the measurable level at the Artana mine, where gold content is larger and this mine is known as the location of the highest gold composition in Kosovo. Gold resources in the Artana mine are estimated to be 2,700kg”, the Kosovo Mine Strategy says.
