Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo has become an example in the Western Balkans, as he said it is the only country in the region that will have stored power batteries.
Speaking at a media conference on US grants of $202 million, Kurt compared Kosovo to Italy and Slovenia.
What has made us very happy and happy is the fact that we are the first in the Western Balkans. The others can take us for an example. In the Western Balkans in these six countries, there are no batteries. You have to go as far as Italy and Slovenia to get to the amplifying batteries what we're going to have now through the MCC grant. And never forget it's not a loan, it's a grant. Here comes the money, takes it, returns. Because we also have loans that are unnecessary, but they're loans. This is grant”, he said.
Kurti asked questions and answered, saying his government's work has led the MCC to give Kosovo this grant.
$522m has been given to Kosovo. So the question is, why did s'eya give it earlier? Because we were on that Threrold Program. Threrold program has the maximum 50 million. Why were we on Threrold program? Because our appreciation for democracy, our rule of law was not good. International assessment has increased, namely American for the Republic of Kosovo that has enabled the transition from the Thresold programme to the Kompact” programme, he said.
Kurti said that with batteries bringing the agreement with the MCC to Kosovo, Kosovo will have capacity 10 times more than Italy.
Not only do you have to go to Italy and Slovenia for these batteries, what we're going to get from the MCC, but if we look for the head, we're going to have a battery capacity 10 times more than Italy, and Kosovo will have 340 megawatt hours of power with 1.85 million people, and Italy has 1250 megawatts of battery energy, but it has 60 million residents of<x1. Slovenia is similar.
