Through a Facebook post, Krasniqi has praised the Macedonian parliament for this decision, saying they showed high state awareness.
Krasniqi has said that a major role in this decision was shared by Albanian MPs, who sided with populism and, according to him, acted as statesmen.
He has said that this decision of Macedonia restores hope for visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
Krasniqi's full mailing to Facebook:
I commend the parliamentary majority in the North Macedonia Assembly, which today, showing high state awareness by majority of votes, voted the French proposal.
The step, as important as historical for northern Macedonia and Albania, which the coming days will officially open negotiations for membership in the European Union.
We should especially appreciate the dedication of Albanian deputies in northern Macedonia, who, out of the way of populism and act as statesmen in a non-enlightly compromise, testified to inspiring leadership for the entire region.
The EU's upcoming decision on opening negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia restores hope and wavering confidence throughout the Western Balkans, especially for Kosovo awaiting the decision to liberalise visas for our citizens.
