With the aim of protecting public health, Minister Latifi urges citizens to increase care, implement measures in force against COVID-19, recently updated on April 30, 2022 and responded to calls for anti-immination COVID-19, including taking the fourth dose, which has been allowed for persons over 60, who have received the third dose at least four months ago, says the communique.
MSH has also warned new austerity measures in Kosovo.
“The eventual change of measures in force will be possible according to recommendations of relevant institutions and experts, depending on the epidemiological situation and projections about its development”, the MSH communiqué says.
Full announcement:
Minister of Health of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Rifat Latifi has held regular meetings with institutions responsible for managing the COVID-19 pandemic and the advisory body regarding COVID-19, with the aim of mobilizing health institutions to cope with any epidemiological situation as a result of increased new cases of COVID-19 in recent weeks.
In order to protect public health, Minister Latifi urges citizens to increase care, implement measures in force against COVID-19, recently updated on April 30, 2022 and responded to calls for anti-immination COVID-19, including taking the fourth dose, which has been allowed for persons over 60 who have received the third dose at least four months ago.
In particular, it is called on this age group and people with compromised immunity to avoid attitudes in the environments where people gather, while recommending that they carry the mask in closed environments and vaccination for groupings allowed to be vaccinated.
In order to preserve public health, all public and private institutions, economic activities -- in particular gastronomy sector, culture, sports sectors, and all other activities -- are urged to implement the measure in force for employees, clients and participants in activities and respective activities -- to be required to witness taking two doses of vaccine against COVID-19, in addition to those under the age of 16 and persons released from the vaccine under counter-indications for vaccines with evidence of the doctor.
Monitoring institutions, meanwhile, are required to monitor the implementation of measures in force and to increase their activities.
As a result of increased cases of COVID-19, hospital burdens have also begun to rise, so the Ministry of Health in collaboration with three levels of health care will increase the level of mobilization and strengthening capacity to respond to this situation.
Co-operation with municipal municipalities and emergency municipal headquarters will also be strengthened.
The Ministry of Health, according to measures in force, recommends that citizens carry protective masks into internal spaces, as well as vaccination with doses of vaccine according to age groups allowed for vaccine.
The eventual change of measures in force could be made according to recommendations of relevant institutions and experts, depending on the epidemiological situation and projections about its development.
