Heavy accident in Pec, 9 people hurt

A serious accident occurred in Monday evening hours in the village of Glavirica in Pec, where nine people were injured.

The news has been confirmed by Kosovo Police spokesman for the Pec region Fadil Gashi.

“Today around 20:20 minutes, police have been reported an accident on Pristina-Peje Street, exactly in the village of Glavirica. Three cars involved in the accident, with cases other than material damage, have injured nine people who were sent to the Peja Regional Hospital emergency for medical treatment”, Gashi said.

Safety in road traffic continues to remain a challenge for the Republic of Kosovo.

The balance of death in Kosovo as a result of traffic accidents is high.

Based on police records over the last three years of road accidents, about 300 people have lost their lives.

According to official data during 2021, traffic accidents have lost 111 lives.

In 2020, although it was the time of pandemic and movement, it was more limited to traffic accidents that killed 81 people.
