Russian energy giant Gazprom says he has suspended gas supplies in Latvia ʹ the last EU country facing this situation amid tensions with Ukraine.
According to foreign media, Gazprom sends out Telegrafi, accused Latvia of violating the purchase conditions, but did not elaborate on that alleged violation.
Latvia relies on neighbouring Russia for natural gas imports, but its government says it does not expect Gazprom's move to have a major impact.
Otherwise, Ukraine says it has killed 170 Russian troops in the last 24 hours.
Ukraine's army also said its forces had destroyed two Russian weapons depots in the Kherson area.
Ukraine has stepped up efforts to evacuate the Russians from Kherson, a large strategic city in the south. The BBC was unable to verify Ukraine's recent claims.
