So far the death toll has increased to 25. Mr. Beshear warned that the death toll can increase even more.
Authorities announced even greater quantities of rain on the following day.
Rescue teams have engaged in areas hit hard by floods, some of them among the poorest in the United States.
These are the biggest floods that have hit several parts of the United States this summer season, including the town of Saint Louis in the state of Mizuri earlier this week and again on Friday.
Scientists say climate change is making the disasters caused by the most common weather. / VOA
