More evacuations increase, fires are spreading to Mediterranean

France has evacuated more than 14,000 people threatened by fires in the southwest, as fires spread to Spain, Croatia and Greece as well.
Authorities in Gironde, France, a prominent tourist region, have evacuated guards from the camps, while tourists left earlier. Fires have spread across Teste-de-Buch and Landiras.
In southern Spain, more than 3,200 people fled the fires in Mija Mountains, although some could later return.
According to the BBC, Portugal's fires have been put under control at the moment, however, the Portuguese government says 659 people have died mainly elderly, from heat last week.
Mija fires in Spain are not far from Malaga, a popular tourist area. Somewhere else in Spain, fires have broke out in the Castilla provinces y Leon, Galicia and Extremadura.
Throughout the Mediterranean, from Morocco west to Crete in the east, thousands of firefighters and many water airplanes are on alert.
The heat waves have become more frequent, more intense and last longer due to climate change.
Many countries are preparing for a high - temperature weather that had many negative effects.
