EULEX has reacted to this same mission's former prosecutor, Maria Bamieh, who today appeared at a media conference, running fierce accusations towards the mission's judges.
EULEX in a media communiqué has said that Bamieh has repeated accusations and gossips, as well as made “baseless gossip”.
According to EULEX, Bamieh presented no new evidence.
On the other hand, this mission says that even investigations by the Kosovo chief prosecutor's office during 2016 have proved there has been no violation by their judges.
Full response:
At today's press conference, we've heard Maria Bamieh repeat accusations, gossip and baseless slander. Bamieh never presented a new test.
Evidence collected during investigations by the Kosovo chief prosecutor's office during 2016 has not confirmed any violations by former EULEX judge at the centre of these charges: https://www.euux-kosovo.eu/?page=1,10,518
Besides, Bamieh vs. EULEX in Great Britain was rejected in 2018. It had begun a civil procedure in Great Britain on employment issues against its employer (FCDO), Missions and its colleagues, some of whom she mentioned today.
In 2015, a report by an independent legal expert reviewed the implementation of EULEX's mandate with special emphasis on handling these charges. This report is available here:
