Economic crimes launch in Prizren's Obilic, seven people in handcuffs

Kosovo Police's economic crimes have arrested 7 people suspected in two separate cases in Obilic and Prizren today.

According to the Kosovo Police Community, in Obilic, two suspected persons, responsible for hosting the works on the “Green Belt Building Kosovo A”, allegedly caused the Obilic municipality's budget considerable material damage.

Police investigators have carried out the necessary research and provided evidence of information on suspected persons and damage done, and through their investigative actions have found that the two O.K. and A.D. allegedly committed criminal work “duty fraud” and “the misuse of official position or authority”. Both have been sent to the holding for 48 hours.

On the other hand, in Prizren, five people suspected of misuse of official office and forging the official document have been arrested.

“The DHKEK has conducted investigative actions on allegations recorded by the National Auditor's Office, that official from the Office for Kthim and Community in Prizren's municipality, allegedly involved in criminal acts regarding the “Construction Funding for the construction of homes of Scamor families and minority community social cases in the Prizren municipality<x> The ongoing investigative actions have provided evidence that four officials from the Office for Return and Communities in the Prizren municipality (C. B, I.D., R.D., A.I., and the US, responsible for the Economic Operator, have committed two high-profile criminal acts in co-ordination. As a result of these actions of suspected persons, Prizren's municipality had paid the bills under the proposed lists, primarily damaging the scavenging families as beneficiaries, as well as Prizren's municipality as contracting authority -- at least in the amount that currently stands at about thirteen thousand (13,000) euros.”, it is said in the police communique.

KP economic crimes on two separate cases arrest seven suspected persons

Kosovo Police, Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), in co-operation and co-ordination with justice bodies has conducted two police operations, which have resulted in the arrest of seven suspected persons involved in criminal activities.

The first case has been carried out today by 25.07.2022 in Obilic, where it is suspected that the two people suspected, the taskmasters of operating on the project titled: “The construction of the green generation Kosova A”, by not adhering to the project criteria related to the (size) deployment of the tubes, allegedly caused the Obilic Community budget considerable material damage.

Police investigators, following the enterprise of necessary investigative/operative actions, have provided evidence and information needed for suspected persons and damage done, through police action that proves a suspicion of committing criminal acts. With these actions, suspects O.K. and A.D. They've allegedly committed criminal work:

With a decision on stopping by the competent Prosecutor, top-ranking O.K. suspects. and A.D. have been sent to holding for 48 hours.

The second case has also been carried out today by 25.07.2022 in the Prizren region, where five people have been arrested on suspicion based on “Falsification of the official document”

The DHKEK has conducted investigative actions on allegations recorded by the National Auditor's Office, that official from the Office for Kthim and Community in Prizren's municipality, allegedly involved in criminal acts concerning the tender “Funding with construction for the construction of Scamor families' homes and minority community social cases in the Prizren municipality<1>

The ongoing investigative actions have provided evidence that four officials from the Office for Return and Communities in the Prizren municipality (C. B, I.D., R.D., A.I., and the US, responsible for the Economic Operator, have committed two high-profile criminal acts in co-ordination.

As a result of these acts of suspected persons, Prizren's municipality had paid the bills under the proposed lists, primarily damaging the scavor families as beneficiaries, as well as Prizren's municipality as contracting authority, at least in the amount currently amounting to about thirteen thousand (13,000) euros.

Actions related to this case have been carried out in co-operation with the competent prosecutor, where after accompanying and interviewing all five suspected persons, the state prosecutor's ruling has been imposed on the detention measure for 48 hours.
