According to the Government, the purpose of this agreement is to define procedures and split costs between the parties for financing the feasibility study of this project, responsible for implementing the memorandum of understanding between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
“While the second decision adopted at this meeting has to do with the “Millennium Challenges Challenge Compact” project authorising the Minister of Economy from the president of the Republic of Kosovo for signing the co-finance agreement and implementing the project between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America, represented by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The government of the Republic of Kosovo has successfully completed negotiating the co-finance agreement and the agreement on implementing the “Millennium Challenge Compact” project. The main objective of this project is to ensure the stability of Kosovo's electricity supply and transition to cleaner energy in the future. The next objective of the project is to build capacities in the field of energy and raise women's employment in this area”, the Government communique said.
