The Kosovo Assembly has in principle adopted the Bill for the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscating Unjustified Riches.
“61 MPs have voted for this bill. 58 votes are for, 3 MPs have abstained, so I found that the Assembly adopted the Bill for the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscating of Unjustified Riches” in principle, the Speaker of the Assembly said.
Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca and MP Doarsa Kica abstained.
Similarly, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that “we are willing to continue the consultations process with all parties”.
It is necessary to have as many consultations as possible... The State Bureau and vetoing the justice system are not the same”, he said.
The opposition rejected and demanded that this bill, which they consider unconstitutional, be not put to the polls.
LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku said they seek inclusion in reform in the justice system.
If the prime minister decides to go without consulting, then continue. The good path is”, he said, among other things, saying they will follow the institutional path.
My proposal is that until we have a conclusion to your initiative for co-ordination for the veto process, we don't even vote on this bill. I believe the reconciliation was to have a reconciliation of”, LDK parliamentary group chief Arben Gashi said already. He also warned of sending the bill to the Constitutional Court.
The PDK's parliamentary group chief said they met yesterday and agreed to handle “package” vetoing issues.
The AAK's parliamentary group's chief said he should also agree that, as he said, “if there will be constitutional changes, there will be consensus”.
He said the bill conflicts with the Constitution and that it must return and be discussed.
But Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu said the Venice Commission's recommendations and opposition remarks could be addressed after voting the first-read bill.
And we've done this before Venice's opinion, even after Venice's opinion. The government's stance is that this bill be put to the polls today in principle, and then all recommendations by the Venice Commission be addressed”, Haxhiu said.
