The Pentagon announced Friday that it will send additional weapons and ammunition, worth $820 million.
The fourteenth arms package for Ukrainian forces includes two air defence systems, more ammunition for launchers of precise missiles “Himars”, which the US began sending in June, about 150,000 rounds of artillery ammunition of 155 mm calibre, and four additional radars against artillery.
Antiaircraft defence systems, known as NASAMS, are short-range and medium-sized operating ground-aircraft systems.
remote launchers are supposed to help Ukrainian forces defend against floating missiles.
The United States continues to work with its allies and partners to offer Ukraine capacities to meet its demands on the battle field”, US Defence Ministry Secretary Todd Breasseal said.
With the new weapons package based on American military supplies, the value of total arms to Ukraine from the US has reached $6.9 billion since the beginning of Ukraine's Russian occupation.
