Montenegro's Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic does not consider the adoption of the Constitutional Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church as treason but as a step to push Montenegro towards reconciliation.
Regarding the possibility of losing the majority of government leading the government, Abbasovic said he has sought everyone's support to form it, writes RTCG.
“We have requested the support of 81 deputies, if there is a good majority, if not, all options are on the table, this is acceptable to me”. I don't make a fuss, I don't mention the term betrayal. We have our political views, affirm that this is not about the Constitutional Agreement”, he stressed.
Abazovic underlined that destabilisation is not a solution for Montenegro.
Last day, President Milo Djukanovic's party issued a statement this Sunday, stressing regret over changing Montenegro's political course, which mentions the adoption of the Constitutional Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
According to the DPS, the deal has been voted without consulting, there are numerous shortcomings that have been publicly declared by professional opinion, nongovernmental sector representatives and numerous political subjects, as well as pose a danger to the state.
On Friday, the Montenegrin government led by Dritan Abazovic approved the Constitutional Agreement, which must regulate relations between Montenegro and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
