Organiser of this petition, Adnan Jashar, said these signatures will be sent to the Assembly. Meanwhile, from the Kosovar Alliance of Business, they say the withdrawal of these savings should be allowed, because around the market around 400m euros would be circulated. While economics expert Erton Bega says another strategy to help citizens needs to be considered.
Over 15 thousand signatures have been collected in the petition for allowing the withdrawal of savings from the trust. This has been announced by the organiser of this petition, Adnan Jashar, who told Radio Kosovo that after completing the process, the signatures will be sent to the Assembly.
So far we have passed the figure of 15 thousand signatures and we expect to complete the petition process and send them to the Kosovo Assembly. Then we expect the Assembly to submit to the CEC the signatures, and we will get answers to the truth of the petition and then the Assembly goes on to draft the trust bill that allows the withdrawal of 30% of each Kosovo citizen's individual savings””, he said.
Jashar said this takes time, given that MPs go on vacation in August, while the government then has a month's term for answers.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Business Alliance Chairman Agim Sahini says he has consistently supported the demand to withdraw Trust means. He stressed that by this, hundreds of millions of euros will be introduced:
“T] is given to citizens at least 20% of the brain, which would thus include 400m euros in circulation. This will give a major infusion of consumer growth and will help the economy”, he said.
But economics expert Erton Bega says that no citizen should be lured into this form. He says the government, but also the opposition, should find forms that would help citizens.
“Given that the citizen is being seduced through money, citizens will surely collect the signatures for the trust. But that is not the solution for the current situation in the economy, because it would only deepen the crisis. The government has to find new solutions to help citizens at this stage. The opposition must insist on other exit strategies from this crisis and not be oriented on pension funds, as this would be harmful to future generations”, he said.
On June 23rd this year, MPs have not approved the draft law to withdraw means from the Trust. The bill on fulfilling and changing the Law for Kosovo's pension funds has been initiated by the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
