The Governor of Odessa, Maksym Marchenko, named the ship Vassiliy Beg.
Ukraine's Sea Command said the ship had anti-missile systems, but this has not prevented the attack.
Marine command in a Facebook post said Vasily Beckh had served in the Russian Black Sea fleet since 2017.
But Moscow has not yet received comments on Ukraine's claims. /Periscopi/
