The removal of the Sunny Hill festival in Tirana has sparked strong reactions and debates in Kosovo.
Mayor Erion Veliaj as he participated in a organisation of the Union of Togethers in the region, expressed his position that fights should be put aside and that activities that unite us well serve our nation.
“There's no need to go out to assess ourselves, there's no need to come foreigners here to assess them. Finally we have a super activity, which I hope will continue every year with a super jury, but above all with super-boys and talented girls, from Albania, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Kosovo. I'm so proud of you all! Lately we politicians, we've screwed up a little bit, we're trying to find out whether it's cit-mice, about the little fight for three votes here, for five votes there. When an event occurs in Tirana, it does not happen in Moscow, it happens in Tirana. Doc Fest occurs in Prizren, not happening in a Russian town, is happening in another Albanian town. So let's put aside the wonders we've seen these days, and realize that there are more things that unite us than those that divide us. The hours we are living are the best hours for Albanians”, Veliaj said.
The competition was dedicated to young people aged 18-35 from all the Albanian-speaking cities of the Western Balkans region, aimed at promoting employment in creative economies.
