According to the agenda, from 9: 00 a.m., participants are expected to arrive until an hour later a working session will begin.
A joint press conference is then scheduled by President Michel, President Von der Leyeen and President Macro.
Leaders will hold a strategic discussion on how to strengthen EU relations with their partners, including how to promote political dialogue and strengthen the security, stability and prosperity of the European continent.
Later the topic will be Ukraine. EU leaders will discuss recent developments regarding Russia's fight against Ukraine, including its impact on the global food security crisis, as well as military, political and humanitarian support planned to be granted to Ukraine.
The results of the first day of yesterday's summit triggered disappointment in Western Balkan countries as they were given nothing concrete for visa liberalisation for Kosovo or opening membership negotiations for Albania and North Macedonia.
European Council spokesman Barend Leyts has shown what the conclusions for the Western Balkans drawn from the EU Summit are, where only progress in dialogue is cited in Kosovo, while not mentioning visa liberalisation, writes the newspaper Express.
At points drawn to conclusions, Kosovo is only talking about resolving disputes with Serbia and progress in dialogue. At these points it is not about visa removal.
The European Council reaffirms the urgency of making clear progress in resolving major bilateral and regional disputes, especially the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue for normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo”, says at point 19.
