After about four weeks of fighting in Ukraine, Secretary General NATO has warned that the war in Ukraine may last for years. Mr. Stoltenberg said that “nobody knows how long war <x1] can last. Meanwhile, a British Defence Ministry report reports on the possibility of the decline in morals of Russian and Ukrainian military forces.
Secretary - General NATO has warned that the war in Ukraine could last for years and demanded that the supply of weapons for Kiev continue, even if “comstots are high”, as he pointed out.
In an interview published Sunday in the German weekly magazine “Bild”, Secretary Jens Stoltenberg said that “nobody knows” how long war can last.
We have to prepare for the war to last for years. We should not give up the support of Ukraine even if the costs are high, not only in relation to military support, but also because of increased energy and food prices”, he stressed.
After four months of fierce fighting in Ukraine, British defence officials say the morals of soldiers like Russians and Ukrainian are on the decline.
According to a British Defence Ministry report, Russian soldiers are turning down orders, as well as there have been cases of violent confrontation among officers.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, after a visit to Mykolaiv and Odessa along the Black Sea, said the Ukrainian Army would continue to protect the country's south.
We will not give the south to anyone, we will return everything that is ours, and the sea will be Ukraine's and safe”, Mr. Zelensky stressed.
“Loss are significant. Many houses have been destroyed, everything has been destroyed, but we will rebuild everything that was destroyed”, he added.
The eastern industrial city of Sievierodonnetsk, a key target in Moscow's offensive to capture the full control of Luhansk, one of the two provinces making up Donbass, was bombed with heavy artillery and rockets, the Ukrainian Army reported.
Analysts from the Washington-based Institute for Studies write that the Russian “forces are likely able to capture Sievierodonetsk in the coming weeks, but at the cost of focusing most of their available forces in this small area”.
Serhiy Gaidai, the governor of Luhansk, said all Russian claims that they control the city are a lie. “They control the main part of the city, but not the entire city”, he said.
In Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, which lies northwest of Luhansk, the Russian Defence Ministry said its “Scanand” missiles had been destroyed.
Heavy weapons supplied by the West are reaching front lines in Ukraine. But the leaders of this country continue to insist on more weapons and as soon as possible. / REL
