Gloucester had sunk off the coast of Great Yarmothus in 1682, almost killing the Duke of York who later became King James II of England.
The find, discovered by divers in 2007, has just been cleared for safety reasons.
Marine expert Claire Jowitt said the find is “of international importance”.
Gloucester's exact location was a mystery until it was discovered 15 years ago.
The terrible accident, in which hundreds of passengers and crew died, threatened to change history.
