After meeting with Austria's Foreign Minister in Belgrade, Sekalovic has said Serbia cannot be against someone who respects its territorial integrity.
Responding to the Austrian journalist's question of why Serbia does not harmonise foreign policy with that of the EU and impose sanctions on Russia, he said no such thing should be expected.
“Do not expect Serbia to act against those who respect its territorial integrity, which are hampered in the UN system by attacks on territorial integrity and sovereignty”, the chief of Serbian diplomacy stressed.
He also said Serbia clearly shows its position by voting in international organisations, with its behaviour towards Ukrainian refugees and sending humanitarian aid.
According to Sekalovic, when the Serbian state leadership makes decisions “is guided by the national interests of Serbia and its citizens and re-exons that Serbia respects Ukraine's territorial integrity, BiH, but also its”.
The chief of Serbian diplomacy also says Serbia has friendly relations with Russia and does not hide it, but that it has clearly said what it thinks about the <x0->activities of the Russian Federation -- or it has condemned them”.
According to him, Serbia's citizens know very well what it means to be under sanctions and that “nobody should ask us to do it to others, knowing how much and when it has a bad influence”
And that we should be supplied with oil, that people here should warm up in winter, that factories should work, cars should drive and that we are not able to count on helping member states from Brussels. but that we must rely on our abilities and resources”, Sakkovic stressed.
But when it comes to “European road”, Sekalovic says Serbia has no road or alternative to that road.
