“I have said and I repeat again, despite the hasty optimism of some, even here in Brussels, I do not expect to solve anything in Bulgaria, but in the meantime if it will be resolved it will be the motive for me to breathe a sigh of this NATO country, the two NATO countries at the height of a heated war on the European borders, and under the sight of 26 other countries that see as stars standing at<1>, Rama said.
“It is a shame Bulgaria grabs two NATO countries in the middle of a European war. Victim, no, we'll never be the victim because we know there's a Bulgaria here, one there. We don't change the road, we have to continue building Europe in our home. The Open Balkans is the real answer as the integration path continues, but the European spirit must be built in the region. The Open Balkans are open to everyone. We're in the front seats because everyone has to drive their own car and Albania is doing its part because Brussels is asking us to, but above all our children. Northern Macedonia has been a candidate for 17 years, Albania of 8, so welcome to Ukraine. It is good that Ukraine is granted candidate status, but that Ukrainian does not create much hope”, the Albanian prime minister said.
Meanwhile, leaders of the 27 EU nations will meet today at a two-day summit in Brussels, preceded by a meeting of EU heads of state and government and the Western Balkans. The meeting of EU leaders and six partners from the Western Balkans begins at 9:30 at the European Council building.
