Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania will support the membership of Finland and Sweden in the NATO military alliance.
The Declaration, Rama, delivered this Tuesday at a joint conference with Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin from prime minister's headquarters in Tirana
We support membership and Finland and Sweden in NATO with all our trust and conviction. It is about two countries that in every respect are an added value of the alliance and that, in present conditions, the alliance's doors should be open to it for the entrance of Finland and Sweden. In fact, we feel privileged to be able to do something for Finland, that is not a little”, the head of government stressed.
Rama suggested another topic of discussion was the opening of negotiations on Albania and Northern Macedonia with the European Union.
He said he does not expect anything new at the upcoming Intergovernmental Conference, while thanking EU efforts to convince Bulgaria of unblocking this process.
