Even this modern-day meeting of the task force for the veting process has been boycotted by members of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and the Judiciary, who are rejecting the task force because it is intervention in justice. And for that, the justice minister, Albulen Haxhiu, expressed regret.

Representatives of the KPC and KDR have long ago left this task force because their recommendations have not been taken on the basis and that the whole process risks the independence of these two institutions.

Haxhiu said during this meeting that a new and more enlightened situation for justice reform is behind the Venice Commission's comments on the process.

“We have after numerous debates and confrontations and, of course, each one of them has only helped reform in justice, and since it is a sensitive and not so easy process, we have considered from the beginning of our work to consult the Venice Commission as an important body in relation to human rights, rule of law, and in this direction, after accepting the Venice Commission's opinion, we are in a new situation and it seems that we have enlightened the way to complete the path to justice<1x>, the minister of Justice said.

While, for the absence of KPK and KDR members at this meeting, she said they are interested in all institutions to co-operate because this reform has nothing to do with proper names.

I regret that today the representatives of the KPC and KDR are not present, however, that we are very interested in co-operating with the justice institutions, including the procurural system and that judiciary, the representatives of both institutions have been present at the stages when we have drafted the concept-document, and now because we have an opinion of the Venice Commission that is a professional opinion I believe we should all be unified in implementing the recommendations that emerge from Venice's opinion. Therefore, because I am very interested in having this collaboration together to address reform in justice because this is not against names apart but is meant to restore citizens' trust in the justice system, we will again invite them to be present with our working groups and to make their contribution in order to address the recommendations given to”, she stressed.

She said the toxin should be on the issue of drafting constitutional amendments in line with Venice's opinion.

The justice minister voiced confidence that Kosovo is entering a new stage and that reform in justice will be successfully completed.

“Pages further will agree together, but the toxin should be on the issue of drafting constitutional amendments in line with the opinion of Venice, we have a draft of constitutional amendments now assessed even with Venice's opinion, but must be made some changes and then the same to process the Kosovo Parliament and then along with the process of treatment by the Constitutional Court because, as we know constitutional amendments go to the Constitutional Court, before they are voted in the country, we focus on the issue of legal changes that concern the opinion of Venice. Kosovo is entering a new stage and I have full confidence that this complete reform will be successfully completed”, Haxhiu stressed.

Otherwise, the Venice Commission's opinions of self-preservation along with the State Bureau for verification and confiscation of unwarranted property were published early last week
