During the war in Ukraine, leaders of France and Germany have made calls with Putin in an effort to encourage negotiations between the two sides.
However, Duda now said such discussions have only legitimised the illegal war in Ukraine.

Earlier this month, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister criticised the French leader, since he had said Russia should not be humiliated over its neighbour's invasion.
