Lajcak warns meetings where Vucinq's Kurt will agree: Association must be made

Miroslav Lajcak wraps up his visit to Kosovo, talking about the Association of Serb Majorities, the continuation of Kosovo-Serbia leadership-level dialogue (The Kurti Vuciq) as well as the comfort for Kosovo that liberalised visas, despite major expectations of June 23rd 2022. So Lajcak goes from Pristina to Belgrade, with these messages: I will [...]
The European Union's Special Representative for the Kosovo Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has warned more frequent meetings between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
He said he doesn't want to organise anymore meetings where parties disagree, but want meetings where the parties will agree to normalisation because, he said, this is the responsibility of state leaders”
We have had two meetings, we have organised after the establishment of Prime Minister Kurti's government in June and July, but from diplomatic prospects it has not been very constructive, and for that reason I am engaged in separate meetings with Prime Minister Kurti. We're going to make sure the next meeting works, we don't want to have meetings where they then criticize each other. We want to have meetings and agree on important things for citizens for Kosovo and Serbia. So we're working on this meeting. Now, I feel like we have the moment to start more frequent, more regular meetings at the leadership level. Normalization is the responsibility of leaders. Our plan is to have more frequent, regular” meetings, Lajcak said at the media conference after the end of the visit to Kosovo, It says Periscope.
As for Serb Major Community Association, Lajcak said this is Kosovo's pledge that has signed it in dialogue and ratified it in the Assembly, and that this pledge must be fulfilled.
It is the vow that Kosovo has accepted through ratification in the Assembly. For this reason, there is a well-known principle of international law that says that what has been reconciled must be implemented. This is not something Brussels wants, but something that parties have agreed on in dialogue. There are other issues on my list of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, but this is very sensitive because Serbia sees it as the most important issue and the EU thinks we should postpone the process before”, Lajcak said, I follow Periscope.
As for the matter No liberalisation of visas, Lajcak said he fully understands”.
I fully understand how sensitive this is to Kosovo, and we know that you deserve to meet the criteria, I am fully aware of how important this is to the image and credibility of the EU. It's never been expected yet. Last week they met, they said they had to be completed successfully. Attention has never been bigger.”, Lajcak said at the media/Periscope
