Prime Minister Kurti said in his address that unfortunately Serbia says it will never recognise Kosovo's independence and does not accept the crimes it has committed in Kosovo.
“In the negotiation process with Serbia I have been engaged and constructive we need a principled dialogue between the two equal sides for a legally binding agreement on normalisation of relations that is central to mutual recognition. Unfortunately, Serbia says it never recognises Kosovo, and therefore does not accept the crimes it has committed in Kosovo. To be honest, the second offends and hurts us more. 19 NATO democratic states joined to halt the genocide of the Milosevic regime in Kosovo, they had objections in their states, but acted”, Kurti said.
Speaking of the Open Balkans initiative, Kurti said Kosovo is open to the Berlin Process.
“However we are trying hard in Brussels to reach agreement when it comes to license plates and electricity in the north, as well as those missing from the last war. Kosovo is the success story of Kosovo's lyrical people. We are grateful to the Western states. The Western Balkans are open to the EU, NATO, the United States, but we do not think that we should be opened to the powers of our birth, we support the Berlin Process, which is again being supported by Chancellor Olaf Scholz”, he said.
