Kosovo imposes reciprocity with Serbia for ID, decides even on license issue

The prime minister's media office has indicated that Serbia's census cars that are submitted for passage to Kosovo's state border and aimed at moving within Kosovo's territory should have the glue placed on the part of the symbols.

The decision takes effect from August 1st,2022 and is worth until October 31st, 2022.

Kosovo's government has also made a decision to enable signboarding of the Republic of Kosovo of all those owners whose cars have with old signs “PR”, “KM”, “PZ”, “GL”, “UR”, “PE”, “DA” or “A”,

The next decision the Government has made at this meeting is that every person presented at Kosovo's state border with personal documents issued by Serbia's authorities will be equipped with a document (fundament-line) that temporarily replaces the use of such a document.

The 85th Pristina Government Meeting, June 29, 2022 The government of the Republic of Kosovo has held electronic meetings in which it has approved the decision to enable registration of vehicles with RKS plates for all vehicles equipped with license plates “PR”, “KM”, “PZ”, “GL”, “UR”, “PE”, “DA” or “A”, as well as the decision to cross the state border by citizens with personal documents issued by Serbia's authorities.

With the first decision approved by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo at today's meeting, it is possible that the owners of vehicles equipped with license plates “PR”, “KM”, “PZ”, “GL”, “UR”, “PE”, “DA” or “From June 10, 1999, to April 21, 2022, a recording of the vehicles with RKS plates is allowed. Under that decision, the census will begin with the date 01.08,2022 and will last until 31.09,2022. The decision has irrevocable characters after the end of the period of validity. The decision obliges the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take all necessary actions and measures in order to realise this process.

The government cabinet's approval also made the decision, under which any person submitted for crossing the state border with personal identification documents issued by Serbia's authorities to be equipped at border crossings with a warrant of currency that temporarily replaces the use of such documents. The paper-declaration will create grounds for circulation on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and for exploitation within state institutions.

Also, according to the decision, Serbia's registration license plates, which are being submitted for the crossing of the state border and aiming to move on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, should have the glue placed on part of state symbols and labels by 01.08.2022. Such a mechanism will apply to 31.10,2022. This mechanism is without prejudice to the maximum deadline for such vehicles' stay on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. /Periscopi
