Kosovo banks raise cases of fraud, call for caution with personal financial data

According to this association, cases of fraud have recently increased in Kosovo and the region, where perpetrators are represented as bank employees and through telephone or other electronic communications cheat citizens by taking away sensitive bank information and causing financial damage.

“Banks apply the best safety standards and practices to prevent the misuse of electronic channels by perpetrators. At the same time, banks consistently instruct their clients about safeguarding security measures that should be taken into account in the case of using electronic banking services, with the aim of preventing various fraud”, the Association of Banks of Kosovo reported.

Following are some guidelines to protect your bank information:

Never share your password or other personal information with others;

Banks never request your bank folder password/peace or secret code (PIN);

Never open attached documents (attachment) and don't click on the link from unknown sender; - Do not call any number that is inside the suspicious email;

You delete the suspicious Email from your inbox;

More attention added in the case of online purchases when sharing your bank folder information is required;

Use updated antivirus software to protect your computer;

Please ensure that the operating system in all your devices ( PC, Laptop, smartphone) to be updated with recent updates;

Even installing a signal apps to support you in certain payments (every time presenting themselves as contracted bank companies) and installing this app will enable cheaters to have full access to your equipment either PC, Laptop or even Smartphone, so never believe these calls. /Periscopi/
