The fact that German Chancellor Scholz starts his visit to Kosovo is certainly very important to Kosovo. Germany has been and continues to be a major supporter of European integration processes and a major supporter of the EU and Balkan integration. Chancellor Scholz's visit gives an important message to the region and in particular to Kosovo, being the first country in the Western Balkans he visits, and this in a diplomatic light is of particular importance when the visit starts right to Kosovo and then continues further to the region”.
He said the German Chancellor's position, which made it clear that there is no EU integration either for Kosovo or for Serbia without mutual recognition, is a topic that has been discussed even earlier, but now the moment for this dialogue to end.
“From my experience and six-year-old diplomatic service in Germany, this topic has been discussed even earlier, but now is the key moment that at the end of these dialogue processes that we have had during the last years, Serbia is clearly told that the agreement should be final with the recognition of the state of Kosovo and that it cannot continue that way, as Serbia continues to remain a supporter of integrations on one side of the Russian bridge. This has been made clear today by the German Chancellor and the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia in the final agreement between the two states will be the outcome of the” dialogue.
The Berlin Process as a priority and support for visa liberalisation was a clear message that Germany is committed to ending this visa liberalisation process and Kosovo citizens can move freely because we know very well that Kosovo has met all criteria. I very much hope Germany will remain a leader for this process to be completed as soon as possible”, he declared in Kosovo Clan.
The former Kosovo ambassador to Germany said it is the right time for European and German pressure to be added to Serbia and its president for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue to end with mutual recognition.
It is now the key moment for international pressure, especially of the EU and German, to be exercised over Serbia and President Aleksandar Vuciq, once and for all, to end the dialogue and once for all be recognised by Kosovo by Serbia, since it was clearly told by the Chancellor who would have no EU integration of any state, nor Serbia without mutual agreement and recognition”.
