Under Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti's leadership, the executive abolished the decision on March 20th 2020 for gradual implementation of reciprocity with Serbia and the decision of May 30th 2020 to meet the change of the first decision on the move.
We have made an important decision to remove obstacles to continuing dialogue. We expect the Serb side to remove all obstacles, but we maintain our right as a sovereign state to impose measures for preserving our sovereignty in line with international partners”, he has said.
Hoti has said these decisions have been made in co-operation with international partners.
The reciprocity measures against Serbia were imposed by the government led by former Prime Minister Albin Kurti on 1 April 2020, forcing the neighbouring state to use the name “Republic of Kosovo”. No truck was allowed to enter Kosovo unless the name Republic of Kosovo was found in their certificates.
