A newly appointed minister in the new government of French President Emmanuel Macron is under investigation for rape.
Chrysoula Zacharopoulow is accused of two women whose identity is not known, of sexual abuse.
The first indictment was made 25 May, leading to the launch of investigations two days later. A second confession was on June 16th.
It is learned that the second case was about the time Zacharopoulow worked as a gynecologist.
A probe into two suspected rape cases, allegedly taking place while working as a doctor”, sources said, the Daily Mail reported.
The 46-year-old former Greek-born delegation joined the French government on May 20th, ahead of the catastrophic results of last Sunday's elections, where Macro lost the parliamentary majority.
Like the new prime minister, Elisabeth Borne, Zacharopoulow is considered to be one of the most powerful politicians in the Macron government.
France's minister, a trained doctor, has worked as a gynecologist before moving to politics.
