In the announcement sent by the prime minister's office for the media, it is announced that at an electronic meeting, it has approved the initiative to link the agreement on the feasibility and projection study on this railway connection and the president's recommendation that the agreement be signed with Albania on the issue.
The initiative for linking the agreement for the feasibility study and project for the Durres-Pristina rail link is approved, between the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo and the Republika Albania Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. ”
The decision to recommend the president of the Republic of Kosovo for authorisation of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure for signing the agreement with the Republic of Albania's Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, for co-financement for the study of feasibility and the Turkey project for the Durres-Pristina connection”, is said in the statement.
The arrangement for this project between the two governments had been reached at the previous meeting.
In December, Environment Minister Lieburn Aliu had announced that the project was also presented in Brussels. The two states had earmarked from onem euros for the feasibility project.
The government has said new corridors in Europe, including Kosovo, will be opened with this project.
