Elektrocosmet object under grenade attack in northern Kosovo

A M52-type hand grenade was dropped on Thursday evening, at around 10:40 p.m. near the facility of electro-ditribution north of Mitrovica.

A transformer and several vehicles parked near the facility have been damaged as a result of the explosion.

The news was confirmed for Radio Free Europe by Kosovo Police Regional Director for Mitrovica Besim Hoti, who said that besides material damage, there were no injuries.

“Procuroria has begun investigating and pending final expertise can confirm that the explosion was caused by a explosives, while work has begun to repair damaged transformator”, Hoti said.
