According to the official announcement by the Euro-Mediterranean Institute of Earthquakes, the epicentre was 20km from the capital and 8km from the coastal city.
No damage has yet been reported, while panic exists since there have been other earthquakes in Albania and the Balkans in recent days.
The damage from this seism was not reported. Fear of a stronger blow, however, continues to be present for citizens, after some of the strongest shocks felt in recent weeks.
