A writing of Basha on June 24th has prompted the KDR and KKP to come up with a joint statement condemning the MP's language.
“K The JCK and KKP express disappointment and consider MP Basha's statement unacceptable and aimed at violating integrity, independence and damaging the image of the judicial and prosecutorial system in general. A deputy of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament should be an example of respecting law enforcement bodies and refrain from such statements that are contrary to the constitutional and legal order and principles”, it says in response.
These two systems have urged Kosovo Assembly deputies to respect their independence.
Such statements and reactions, do not contribute to the co-operation of institutions with the judicial and prosecutorial system, therefore, the KPC and the KKP, call on MPs to contribute by reflecting and respecting the independence of the two systems. The Judiciary and Prosecutorial Council assure all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that they will continue to engage in an independent, transparent and impartial judicial system of”.
Therefore, we call on MP Basha to avoid this kind of statement, which in this case according to the assessment of the KDR and KPC, is offensive, deignive as well as unsuccessful efforts to tarnish and label values for the judicial and prosecutorial system in general, the response continues.
A few days ago, MP Basha had decided to deal specifically with prosecutors and judges, and his thoughts had revealed in a Facebook post. Among other things, it compared prosecutors and judges to those of Milosevic's day.
