Clark had said June 12th was the most important day in the entire operation under which they were engaged for weeks and months.
He had thanked the NATO military for their courage and dedication, claiming their families were and would remain proud of them.
Not only have our forces carried out a successful air campaign that forced Milosevic to meet our five central requirements, but they have also been responsible for heroic work on the humanitarian front”, Clark has said.
Our “Our work, of course, is far from done and the risks are far from complete. Our forces are entering a difficult territory, but they know their cause is right and will do everything they need to secure Kosovo and prepare for the return of hundreds of thousands of refugees who have been expelled from their homes from this brutal ethnic cleansing”.
General Clark has confirmed that Slobodan Milosevic was convinced NATO was winning, and that his army forces from Kosovo should leave.
At first, we said we would systematically and progressively attack, attack, degrade, destroy if President Milosevic did not meet the demands of the international community and eventually destroy Serb forces in Kosovo, their objects, logistics and all its assets. President Milosevic praised it, and we did just that, and Milosevic convinced”.
When asked how long it would last, NATO leaders have said it might take days, weeks or months, at least it would depend on how many sentences and sufferings President Milosevic would be willing to impose his armed forces. Even that was true and we've been saying for weeks that we were winning, he was losing and knew. I think events have brought us up in every case”.
“Now, another major task is under way, the extraction of Serbian forces and the introduction of our forces is a major logistics operation that is not safe”, Clark has said.
