The Kosovo Civil Service Union, on the occasion of June 23rd, International Civil Service Day, has expressed deep indignation against the Government of Kosovo.
At a media conference, Union Chairman Mursel Zymberi has said Prime Minister Albin Kurti has made a total break with unions and social dialogue.
June 23rd marks the international days of civil servants because the UN itself has marked it as an international day of civil servants. Unlike other years, this day is being marked in this form. Unlike other years, this day is being marked through conference because we've constantly marked this day by sharing gratitude to civil servant”.
The public administration didn't have a way for such a meeting. Prime Minister Kurti has made a total break with unions and social dialogue. There are problems that should be addressed through social dialogue. It is not easy for us to come to situations to leave citizens' services and protest our own”, he said.
He has demanded from the government's chief not to adopt bills that according to him are unmet.
There was no step taken regarding the wage law. Even in the past, the position of civil servants has been more violated. I request from Prime Minister Kurti that unmet laws not be adopted. We have been hoping that there will be positive developments with the new government, but we are disappointed because with a draft law it is to take over the mandate of middle and low positions”, he said.
Zymber also received criticism from the Administration Inspectation Law, which he says are trying to intimidate civil servants.
A serious provocation has been made with the administration's inspection law. We've been loud against it because an inspector comes to your office if he finds it closing and breaking the door, takes the computer, and that scares officials. We are for accountability, but not for the form of control what was thought of”, he said./eo/
