The turning point was an accident in 1954, when the plane crashed and many people died. Believe it or not, glass was the accident. Logic is simple. Whatever angle it has, it automatically has a weakness. Square windows have four angles, which means there are four weak points possible.
Rounded windows are able to share pressure equally because they have no corners. Circle forms are stronger and resist deformities, making them more resistant to repeated changes in pressure between the inside and outside of the aircraft.
That is why engineers have set a round form as standard, which can handle higher pressure more easily, such as the one created by air on an airplane during flight.
