However, according to Serbian media, three “issues of importance” will be discussed today on this call. Vuciq has said that three things about gas quantity, gas prices and supply security are important for him in his conversation with the Russian counterpart.

The current ten-year gas deal between Serbia and Russia expires within two days.

The phone conversation between them is set for today at 11:00 p.m.

Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, has said they have to provide enough energy to maintain restrictions.

Meanwhile, recent days in Serbia have been rumoured that there will be no gas paid with the same price as in preliminary agreements with Russia.

This depends exclusively on the Russian side. A much greater security would suit us”, Brnabyq added.

Vuciq, on the other hand, had complained that he is being pressured to impose sanctions on Russia. Even today, French Ambassador Pierre Cochard has reminded Belgrade that it is expected to understand the weight of the “events in Europe and harmonise foreign policy with Western countries. Cochard in an interview for Tanjug has suggested to Serbia that EU candidate countries have pledged to harmonise their foreign policy with the EU and that this was discussed even before the war in Ukraine, but, as he says, the issue has become even more sensitive to Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
