Kiev cited the need for the body to review the situation “in continuing deterioration” in Ukraine, including reports of mass casualties in the southern port city of Mariupol.
The current “Situate calls for urgent Council attention in view of recent reports of war crimes and large-scale violations in the city of Bucha and other freed areas of the country and continued reports of mass casualties in the town of Mariupol”, said Yevhenia Filipenko, Ukraine's ambassador to the UN.
