Year: The smuggling of 600kg of raw tobacco is prevented

According to police initially managed to identify four horses who had been introduced to Kosovo's territory from Northern Macedonia, they were suspected through illegal routes, which were loaded with raw tobacco.

Kosovo police, or Regional Directorate of the East Border, with police patrol units for border oversight, in the application of measures to prevent and combat lawlessness and smuggling have intensified tactical and operational controls on the ground.

As a result, by the date of 05.05,2022, in the evening hours, based on the analysis of risk and intelligence from border police units has been able to identify four (4) horses who had entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from the Republic of Northern Macedonia, are suspected of being loaded with crude tobacco.

Based on intelligent information, the cargo along with the animals-horses had the destination of Mr.N.'s suspected person's home, in the village of Lubish, the municipality of the Year, with new aims to load in a vehicle with local license plates.
After consultations with the competent prosecutor, the uninhabited house, with which it is found in one of its spaces, has also been raided. A total of 34 tobacco sacks of crude tobacco have been found, over 500 (five hundred) pounds and 94 (nine and four) packing tobacco (about 1kg). total.
