At a media conference, Berisha denounced the campaign under way against his failure to run for DP chairman.
“Denoncise the government-funded campaign, Soros' mafia against Sali Berisha's candidacy. I have declared the candidacy and they make emissions should Berisha run. This is an unprecedented campaign. I'm gonna run and fill out the papers. If I am elected on May 22nd by the Democrats' referendum, if I am not elected subject to their constitutional verdict”, Berisha said.
Berisha spoke of the organisation's latest report “Border-free Report” for media in Albania.
<x) A sac, a dome of state mafia and related businesses, is choking free speech in Albania. The call is to protect the freedom of media as an invaluable asset to citizens”, he said.
Former Prime Minister Berisha has called for Interior Minister Bledi Cuci's resignation in the case of the young man's death in the Kavaja commissioner, Ilvi Meta.
He warned that tomorrow there will be a protest, where candles will be lit as a sign of solidification for the young man's death.
The minister of the family, instead of dealing with law enforcement, is Guardian of the Rama clan's criminal interests. Police Director General kept silent as if nothing had happened. That's even more criminal. Quiet at a time when at a five-week time span 2 young men died in the cells of the police commissioner where they should be safer. Condemning this inhuman attitude of the heads of state, I request the immediate resignation of Minister Chuci. Meanwhile, I will propose today to the Refounding Commission before all Albanian commissioners at 8 o'clock to light candles in a silent peaceful protest, stop killing in Commissioner”, Berisha said.
Berisha has considered the process of electing new president as ridiculous
The process for electing the president is ridiculous. They go so far as through Baton, Edi Rama nominated his wife for president. So he managed to personalize it in this process”, he said.
Asked about his position on the president's issue and Alibeaj's statements, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said the National Council will meet today to determine the Democratic Party's position on this process and take a political stance.
“Edi Rama will face the true opposition. It is futile to comment on the name at a time when it constitutes nothing but behaves as Minister of Edi Rama”, Berisha said. / ATSk/
