The Energy Regulatory Office has cancelled the decision to expensive electricity bills after an extraordinary meeting held Friday evening, writes Periscope.
That's how it was made known by the ZERE itself by means of a media communique, following the decision of the Court of Appeals, which it saw as illegal.
“Z THREE on May 18, 2022, has been accepted by the Court of Appeals Actual AA.nr. 364/2022, with which the Court has rejected the ZERE complaint and confirmed the Constitutional Court's decision to postpone the execution of the Z-advanced electricity retail tariffs ruling. THREE, until the court decides with the final court ruling, according to the indictment of the plaintiff”, it became known in the communiqué.
“As a consequence of the created state, the ZERE Board by May 20, 2022, in the extraordinary Seanca, has issued the decision, with which the execution of the verdict V 1489 2022 date 08.02.2022, according to the AA.nr.364/2022 of the Appeals” Court, the ZREE's announcement concludes.
Kosovo's Appeals Court confirmed a foundation decision in Pristina that suspended the Energy Regulatory Office decision (ZRRE) on new tariffs. Appely decided after the ZERE complaint, saying it was unfounded.
“The Court of Appeals has found that the first instance court has correctly confirmed the actual and fair state of implementation of procedural and material provisions in the case of approval of the plaintiff's request, with which it called for delaying the execution of the indictee's decision Z. RHRE”, said a press communiqué of the Court of Appeals.
The Constitutional Court in Pristina on April 9th had made the decision to suspend the ZERE's decision to expensive the electricity, but despite that, Kosovo citizens have also been billed at increased prices in April.
But, ZERE, calling to the Law for Administrative Conflicts, had said that the <x0th degree implementation does not become of the cut form and is virtually non-powerful and executable”.
The process in the court to suspend the decision to expensive the electricity has started after the indictment filed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo, with the argument that the expensive flow “harms citizens”.
The ZERE, in the continuation of the global energy crisis, had adopted bills with growth on February 8th, which has said will be valid until March 31, 2023.
With these rates, consumers who spend over 800 kilowatts per month pay more dearly. They pay 12.5 cents for kilowatts during expensive tariffs, while 5.9 cents during low rates.
The free power fee in Kosovo is between October 1st and March 31st, between 10: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 a.m.
From April 1 to September 30, the free fee is between 11: 00 and 8: 00 a.m. According to ZERE estimates, about 20 percent of consumers spend more than 800 kilowatts a month.
For consumers who spend less, the electricity price has not changed, they continue to pay 7 cents per kilowatt during expensive fees and 3 cents during free tariffs.
Civil society, citizens, but political parties had also rejected the decision to set new energy tariffs. The decision had been made on behalf of Kurti Government. /Periscopi/
